Stop Work Authority Policy (SWAP)
This policy applies to all Team Members
Scope
This policy applies to all Team Members which include Directors, Managers, employees, contractors, subcontractors who are engaged by the company and visitors who enter any of the premises of the company.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all Team Members prioritise safety and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents and injuries while performing work-related tasks.
All PacMarine Team Members have the Authority and Responsibility to STOP WORK without fear of reprisal for any activity that may cause an accident or injury or the harm of the environment.
It is the policy of this company that all Team Members must STOP FOR SAFETY when they encounter any unsafe condition or situation. This means that:
STOP WORK immediately if any unsafe condition or situation is encountered, or when condition changes (from safe to unsafe) during the work being performed, report it to the supervisor or the QHSE Manager, and take necessary actions to eliminate or control the hazard.
Identify any potential hazards, risks or unsafe practice that may be present in their work environment,
Report any identified hazards or risks to their supervisor or the QHSE immediately.
Report action of any person or a team when it is not in compliance for safely performing a task .
Take necessary actions to eliminate or control the identified hazards or risks to ALARP before continuing with work activities.
The QHSE shall follow up and must investigate all reported hazards and risks, and take appropriate actions to eliminate or control them, and provide necessary feedback and guidance to the Team Members.
